WOW! I cannot believe the site is LIVE! For those of you who are close to me, you know this has been a labor of love over the past several months. To finally be able to share it with the world is an amazing feeling. So, here is a little bit about me…
My husband David and I are the blessed parents of two wonderful daughters, Presley (7) and Lottie (4). We also have two fur babies, our Cavalier King Charles Spaniels – Maggie (12) and Penny (2). We call Bluefield, Virginia “home.” It is a sweet, small town nestled in the heart of the Appalachian mountains. I never envisioned myself as a stay at home mother until meeting David and discussing on end the ultimate desires of our life as a married couple and parents. So, although the title isn’t very fancy, “Stay at Home Mom” is one I’m very proud of.
I received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of Tennessee where I had BIG dreams to one day being on the news, maybe working around sports, or in some type of tv journalism.
Fast forward many years, I joined the Nashville-based-blog, Modern Southern Mother, as a contributor in Febrary 2019. I enjoyed writing vigorously and creating content for a solid year that sparked a creativity in my blood that hadn’t been lit in quite some time! I found that writing and blogging allowed me to enjoy my life as a stay-at-home mother, while still having a creative outlet that happened right from my desk in the kitchen. I knew pretty quickly that I wanted to start something of my own, but it took some time to envision what it would eventually look like.
Now, you see my vision coming to life. I wanted to create a fun, bright space that is a true depiction of my personal style. James Dean Lane is affectionately named after my two amazing daughters, Lottie James and Presley Dean. This is somewhat of a tribute to them, for through my years as their mother, I’ve grown into the woman I am today. I finally have a place to “park” my many interests, from style, decorating, cooking, embroidery and so much more! I hope you enjoy all things JDL – and thank you for stopping by!
