What says southern comfort more than biscuits and gravy? I remember being a college student at the University of Tennessee, and one of my Michigan roommates being fascinated by the McDonald’s Menu including “Biscuits and Gravy.” What in the world is this stuff, she thought? It’s quickly become a favorite of my girl’s, mostly Presley. And although we strive to eat fairly clean in my kitchen, I”ll never deprive my family of experiencing the joys of down home, southern cooking! This recipe is so simple, and semi-homemade. I hope you enjoy, and experiment in sharing southern love like we do in my family – through our food!
Gravy Ingredients:
1 Pound Ground Pork Sausage
1/3 cup all purpose flour
3 cups milk
¼ regular salt
2 tsp ground pepper
Directions:
- Once you’ve achieved the desired consistency of your gravy, then season with salt and pepper.
- Pour over sliced or broken biscuits and enjoy!
